Happy New Year!
Dear members we look forward to a great 2012!
January's user group meeting is sure to be exciting. We have the "preview" of the hands on PHP project. You'll be sure to enjoy this meeting whether you are currently using or are interested in PHP on i or if you are interested in the results of the first hands on effort.
Teams will unveil their finished applications during the January meeting. The objective of the project is to provide user group members an opportunity to learn new skills, hands on, working on a live project(equating to real live experience) and also to provide user group member organizations an opportunity to use new technology and techniques. We are in the home stretch on this project.
Overall it has been a great experience. We started out aggressively with a robust PHP application. We look forward to opening the activity to other user groups and hope this is one of many hands on learning opportunities. If you have an idea for an upcoming hands on project or there is a specific technology/skill you'd like to see included for an upcoming hands on activity please don't hesitate to step forward. MITEC 2012 plans are well under way. The one day conference event will be held on Tuesday June 12th, 2012 at the Schoolcraft College in Livonia Michigan. We have a Power Packed day of education planned. Note the date on your calendar. User group and group rates will be extended for the event. We have a great list of presenters and topics planned. www.gomitec.com.
It's that time of year again. SEMIUG relies on member dues to fund activities. If you haven't already renewed please do so. Membership dues for an organization is only $100 and only $50 for an individual membership. You may find details at the bottom of the membership page.
